Mets Notes:
The Mets remembered to bring their bats to this interdivision contest with the Rockies as they produced as season high 19 hits and scored a season high 19 runs. Almost every Met player had at least one hit and none was probably any more dramatic than Zach K.'s 3-run blast in the 5th inning that cleared the tall fence in left field and landed in the middle of Derby Street. Mick L. had a break out game for the Mets as he finished the day 3 for 4 with 3 doubles, 5 RBI and 1 walk. Kris S. provided his usual firepower as he crushed 2 doubles, a single and had 2 walks while Ryan W. was his usual RBI machine with his bases clearing triple in the 4th . Liam D. played a solid 1st base for the Mets and contributed with an RBI single in the 2nd to open the scoring. From there, the scalding hot bats of Claire L., Elliott G., and William “Banks” T. kept putting the pressure on the Rockies defense. William “Barry” K., JD P., and Kevin C. rounded out the Mets attack as each delivered an RBI single during this contest. Defensively, the Mets had to feel good about all their hitting as pitching ace JD P. took the mound and helped to keep the Rockies bats at bay. JD struck out 6 batters and worked himself out of a few jams with runners in scoring position.
