Team Summaries Mets Notes:
In an mid-week tilt at Bushrod between the Mets and Marlins, it was the Mets who came back from 5 runs down in the 6th to force extra innings and outlast the Marlins 10-9. The Marlins jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the 3rd inning and added 3 more in the 4th as Nate P's hot bat kept the Mets defense on it's toes with RBI singles in both innings. On the mound, Marlins pitcher Sam S. kept the Mets offense in check as he put up zeros in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. Mets starting pitcher Ryan W. was equal to the task and gave his team 6 workman like innings putting up zeros in the 1st, 2nd and 5th innings. While Kevin C. and Claire L. provided a couple web gems, fielding miscues by the Mets kept Ryan from matching his Marlin counterpart zero for zero. The Mets bats finally woke up in the 5th as they plated 3 runs with Luke G., J.D. P., and Kris S. all delivering RBI singles. The Marlins answered with 3 of their own to open the 6th and extend their lead back to 5 runs as Nate's hot bat continued to haunt Mets pitching. But the Mets had different ideas and clawed back with 2 more in the home half as Mick L. drew a walk, Ryan followed with a single and Zach K. cashed them both in with a double. With J.D. putting up a zero in the top of the 7th, the Mets came up to bat needing 3 to tie and 3 they got. William 'Barry' K. led off with a single and 3 walks later Ryan and Zach batted the tying runs home. The Marlins would not go away quietly and looked to take the game back as they scratched out 1 run in the top of the 8th but the Mets would not be denied. Liam D. drew a walk and then scored on J.D.'s second triple of the day. With 2 outs and J.D. stuck on 3rd, Mick hit a dribbler just past the pitcher and then beat the throw to 1st to score JD and give the Mets the comeback victory.

Marlins Notes:
The Marlins lost another heartbreaker, losing a three run lead in the seventh and then succumbing in the eighth.

The Marlins played stellar defense, not committing an error in the field, and played their high pressure offense, taking extra bases and putting the pressure on the Mets defense.

Steak Sandwich was impressive in another strong outing and Fro-do, Panger and Kleiner did an excellent job at the plate. The Mallet came in for another gutty performance in a difficult situation. Always facing a bases-loaded situation, the Mallet got the Fish into extra innings then lost the game on a brutal twist of fate when he redirected a ball heading for Panger at short.
