| Team Summaries | Mets Notes: After a 45 minute no umpire-delay to start the game, the Mets were brought back down to Earth from their 3-0 start as the Mariners could do no wrong and bashed their way to a convincing 21-3 victory. After the Mariners scored 3 runs to open the game in their visiting half of the 1st, the Mets responded with 2 of their own in their bottom half. The battle for supremacy in the North was on! Unfortunately for the Mets, the Mariners continued to score and score and score while Mariners pitching kept the Mets off balance all day. At 18-3 in the 5th, the Mariners put the nail in the coffin as they perfectly executed the double steal putting runners in scoring position at 2nd & 3rd.
