Team Summaries Astros Notes:
Pitchers for both squads stranded runners, and though it was not a classic pitcher’s duel, it was a classic baseball game. The Pelicans and Astros both managed to come from 2 runs back to tie the game, and we headed into the final frame at 7 apiece. A-Ron, lead off the bottom of the 7th with a solid line drive single, and with The Big Dog waiting on deck, Spencer 1 hopped the fence in right center, and A-Ron was off to the races and when he touched the plate, a great game had come to a close. Along the way, there were heroes for both teams. Bryce was tough through 5 innings from the hill, before a spot of trouble to start the 6th brought Spencer in to quell the uprising. Spencer worked his way out of a jam in the 7th as well. Meanwhile, sparkling defense from Big T, and gutsy effort behind the plate from Kani paced the tough Astro attack.

Pelicans Notes:
Another rainy week, another beautiful weekend. The Pelicans and the Astros arrived at Witter ready to play some ball, and play some ball they did!

BrandenS took the mound for the Pels, and he wasn't afraid to use his defense. Early in the game, ScottyR picked a groundball and threw to a waiting MikeK at the plate to take a run away from the aggressive Astros. Later, NateM made a similar play to nail a runner at the plate.

After starting last Sun, BryceC made his first relief appearance with the score 4-2 Astros. He pitched superbly for 2 innings, and the Pelicans clawed back to 4-4 when JasonS took home on a dropped third strike.

In the 7th, JoshA was given a second chance after a foul pop up fell, and he knew what to do with it. Josh lined a standup triple to the deepest corner of Witter, and suddenly the Pels were in the driver's seat. But the Astros' pitcher wasn't about to give in. Two strikeouts later, the Pels were still looking to plate Josh, and a hard ground ball to short wasn't enough.

Two hard blasts by the Astros' AaronP and SpencerW opened the bottom of the 7th and closed the game.
