Bainbridge Island is one of the premeir venues for a high school lacrosse game and this Friday night under the lights was no different.

Issaquah dominated play in the 1st quarter by clearing the ball extremely well, riding hard and winning several groundballs in the midfield, but they just struggled to finish. They finally got on the board just over 7 minutes in with a perfect end to end clear from Hahn to Thomas to Lindor that Lindor pushed to Matt O'Neill for the finish Julian Ritchie than capitalized on a broken play to close quarter and put Issaquah up 2-0 but the purple and gold had wasted several great opportunites to make it more.

Bainbridge then found their own rhythm in the 2nd quarter and began disrupting Issaquah's flow. Jason Ashton adn Seam Maier each found the net to knot the score before a great double facedodge effort from Matt O'Neill put Issaquah back up one. Just before half Reynolds Yarbrough came up with a big save for the Spartans and pushed a fastbreak the other way. Ashton found Dane Weisner on the doorstep and Bainbridge tied it up again just before half.

Zach Fritz scored a huge goal early in the third simply running past an over aggressive defender from the wing and finishing himself. Bainbridge countered as Ingrasci found Ashton on a simple drive and dump to the wing. Ashton fired his second home from 12 yards to tie it again. Issaquah got the transition game going again though and a beautiful clear from Richert to Rauch to Director started a break that ended with an O'Neill to Ritchie tally. Minutes later Issaquah capitalized on its only man-up opportunity of the night as Matt O'Neill finished again.

Issaquah appeared to be wearing the spartans down and finally had momentum entering the 4th. Momentum was quickly killed before the next face-off as Issaquah was assessed a 3 min illegal stick penalty. The man-down unit did a fabulous job nearly killing it off and with under 30 seconds in the penalty had appeared to have won the ball back when a very late flag came with a suspect hold call to put Issaquah down 2 men. Again they almost killed it off but Bainbridge scored with just 1 second left in the first penalty to bring them back to life. From there Issaquah got sloppy and appeared to have run out of steam on the offensive end... credit the Bainbridge defense for the high pressure. Issaquah's defense stood tall themselves as game went scoreless for nearly the final 9 minutes.

Inside of 2 minutes a hard luck trip gave Bainbridge another man-up but the man-down stood tall again. Spartans still had ball and a chance to tie but O'Neil Hughes made his biggest saves of the year, two in a row inside 30 seconds left and won Issaquah a clear. Issaquah looked to run out the last 25 seconds and in attempting to move the ball behind the cage lost it. IN the ensuing scramble, Matt O'Neill came out with the ball and found himself spinning right in front of the cage, so he shot and finsihed to ice it with just seconds left.

Great game for Austin Richert in keeping Jake Knotsman scoreless and winning 5 big groundballs. Entire defense won this one for Issaquah as outside of some key big broken plays and some well executed fast breaks, the offense struggled to finish and Issaquah's midfield was held without a single point for the first time all year.
