Islanders Notes: No notesSea Dogs Notes: Despite the score, the DOGS deserved to win this one today. We played great and proved to a top team that we come to play every game!
Where to begin? How about the first inning with two outs and Sandman draws a walk, steals second, third and home to give the Dogs the early lead? Or how about Gramp's gutty performance on the mound? Or how about Shaggy's four RBI day, plus two extoranary heads up steals of home? How about all the Dogs' never say die attitude, chearing on the bench, continuing to work hard and concentrate despite being down by five runs twice? But for me, the highlight of the game was Country Boy walking with two outs in the 5th, lumbering to second and third on consecutive pitches and watching Peter Pan lay down a PERFECT text book bunt with COUNRTY BOY barrelling down the line trying to score on a suicide squeeze. Were it not for a perfect play by the pitcher the Dogs would be howling a different tune this morning. Peter Pan showed not only excellent skill, but a baseball smarts that you just can't teach!
The game ball however, ended up going to Shaggy. A late arrival due to his busy schedule, Shaggy shows up in the second inning, and still drives in four and scores two! Way to go Shaggy! |
