Hats off to Skyline as the Spartans came out with a passion to play. Issaquah got served a lesson in going through the motions.

Incredibly sloppy 1st quarter and somehow Issaquah led 3-1. Skyline had the better run of play but O'Neil Hughes made a few saves and Issaquah capitalized on some broken plays to lead it.

Skyline tied it by half and got the first of the 3rd quarter to take a 5-4 advantage. Issaquah tied halfway through the period before Skyline took another lead with 2 minutes to go in the quarter. Issaquah struck twice in the last 1:15 and rode the momentum into the 4th quarter with two more to go up 9-6 but this one was far from over.

Skyline clawed it's way back and the game stood 9-8 for nearly the last 7 minutes. Skyline got possession with just over two minutes left and a great possession it was. They misfired a couple times but never let Issaquah see the ball back and with 9 seconds left Ryan Benz was able to put it past Brady Hahn to knot it up.

In Overtime, Issaquah won a quick break off the opening faceoff but Jake Fritz's shot went just wide. Issaquah promptly turned it over as Skyline got their stick in the passing lane, won the ball and called timeout. On the ensuing possession the Spartans cleared to Max Saffle who pressed and he found McMackin on the back pipe to end it.

Great game for Issaquah's Kole Lindor as he was seemingly all over the field, gathering 10 gbs and holding Jack Pruitt in check. But other Spartans stepped up and Issaquah didn't get the same effort.
