Pelicans Notes:
A little morning rain couldn't prevent the Pels and Mets from completing their back to back series this weekend. For the second straight day, both teams fielded great pitching and defense... and for the second straight day, it was a quick, low-scoring affair.

In the top of the first, Tigger's infield single plated Sarge and the yellow and black jumped out to a 1-0 lead.

Kirby took the mound for the Pels, and he pitched quickly and efficiently. In the first, he threw just 10 pitches and all of them strikes. He bettered that in the 4th, throwing 8 pitches all strikes!

In the 3rd, Sarge suicided in a run and in the 4th Kirby helped his own cause with a 2-run triple to deep center.

MarcusM pitched well, too, letting his defense stall a number of Pels' rallies. The Pels left 8 runners in scoring position thanks to defensive gems by KaramaS, JaredM and JackS.

For the Pels, a few familiar faces had strong defensive showings in new positions. Bruiser played a clean first base and Rhino caught extended innings for the first time. After Pungo left with an injury (safe at 2nd), Cornflake held down the hot corner with a few nice plays.
