| Team Summaries | Issaquah Notes: Seattle Prep 1-0-1-2- 4 Issaquah 4-4-2-6- 16 Seattle Prep opened with a good defensive scheme and stymied Issaquah offense much of the first quarter. Even after a timeout, Issaquah struggled to get in the proper set and work the zone. Finally the purple and gold broke through scoring 3 goals inside the final 2:45 in the quarter to stretch the lead. The last came just moments after the third goal on a pretty fastbreak finish directly from the faceoff; Riley Goodman to Jake Fritz. Second quarter was pretty similar. Issaquah began to get better looks but still missed the cage. Prep had very few offensive chances as Issaquah rode tough, won the groundballs and controlled 75% of the possession. Another 4 goal spurt inside the last 4:30 of play extended the lead to 8-1 at half. Cameron Danforth did a great job in net in the first half saving 3 of the 4 shots he faced and starting several fast breaks with great outlets. Game still seemed tight in the 3rd quarter until Issaquah broke it open in the 4th. Freshman, Matt O'Neill did what he was inserted to do, finish... and finish he did as he scored a career high five times. Connor McClain did a great job pressuring David Schoettler all evening and disrupting Prep's offense. A solid, well played game for Issaquah and good win. Seattle Prep Notes: |
