| Game Summary | The fiery Dragons took the SOLL AAA Championship on a beautiful Father's Day. The Dragons' Zhi M pitched a complete six inning game striking out 5 while allowing no walks in an awesome pitching performance. Dragons' catchers Spencer M and Frank K managed the pitch count and signs brilliantly. Defensive standouts for the Dragons were Andre N (7 outs at 1st base), K (2 fly outs at 2nd base), Nick D at 3rd base and Rebecca S at 2nd base making a shoestring catch for the final out of the game. The Rivercats offense was produced by Nate S (2 for 3, run), Sasha B (1 for 2, run), Liam B (1 for 2, run), Gavin D (1 for 2, run) and with Amos S and Aidan O each going 1 for 2. The Rivercats pitchers; Gavin D and Alex R struck out three apiece and kept the game close in the early innings including ending a bases loaded 1-out situation in the second inning. The Dragons' bats were on fire and led to all 10 Dragons players reaching base. Offensive standouts were Peter M (double, run, 2-RBI), M (2 for 3, 2 runs, RBI), N (2 for 3, 2 runs, 2-RBI), Tommy R (2 for 3, run, 2-RBI), Downs (2 for 3, run, 2-RBI), Reece J (1 for 2, run) and Evan W with a picture perfect bunt that refused to go foul and died on the line two feet from home. The Dragons advanced to represent SOLL in the District-4 AAA Tournament of Champions on June 20th on Chabot field against Alameda (6:00pm). | ||
