Game Summary | Led by strong pitching by starter Andrew A, the Islanders beat the Sounds 19-10 on a beautiful Sunday afternoon at Caldecott. A held the Sounds scoreless for two innings, while the Islanders poured on the offense. After getting on the board in the first inning, the Islanders went crazy in the second and scored nine runs. Among the hits were stunning triples by Islanders Jonathan D and Kyle O. Aggressive base running and stealing moved the Islanders around the bases. The Sounds amped up their hitting in the third, starting with a double by Bryce S. They got on the board and scored three. Islander Scott O answered by hitting an outstanding double in the fourth. The Sounds kept pounding away, with Krister E slugging two huge doubles to the fence. Teammate Elias R also smashed a big double. Defensively, the Islanders held the Sounds back with fantastic snags of line drives by Islanders third baseman Kyle O and second baseman Vasco V. |
