Game Summary | The Islanders prevailed against the Diamondbacks on Sunday, 12-8. Islander starting pitcher Andrew A took charge by striking out five in the first two innings. Diamondback pitcher Julius S delivered a superb performance and held the Islanders in check for the first two innings, allowing only one run and leaving Islanders stranded on base. The Diamondbacks racked up runs early but the Islanders scored four in the third and four more in the fifth, led by stunning back-to-back triples by Scott O and Jack D. D'backs second baseman Jordan M went 3 for 4 and made outstanding defensive plays that kept the game close. Clean up slugger Nkosi D was two for four with a deep three-run home run in the final inning. Islander closer Isaac S struck out three. |
