| Game Summary | Rainiers nip Sounds in close game. With excellent pitching by a Rainiers staff of 4, which cooled the Sounds' bats even more than the breeze this morning, the Rainiers triumphed 9-7. The Sounds were sent down in order in the first, but rallied for 4 in the 2nd and 3 more in the 3rd, on a two out double by Tommy M to tie the game at 7 on a combined 8 hits. The Rainers, who scored 7 runs on 5 hits in the first two innings, pushed across 2 more in the bottom of the third to go up and then slammed the door on the Sounds as Matt F and Matt B combined to face only 7 Sounds batters in the last two innings. |
