Team Summaries St. Matthew - Roakes Notes:
St. Matthew traveled downtown to the friendly confiens of St Patrick on Saturday. With a nice wooden floor, teams always enjoy visiting the gym. Saint Matthew started the game out shooting the ball very well. Saint Patrick hung tough and continued to give 100% effort on defense.

Saint Matthew was led by Mark Pollack on offense, shooting 83% from the field. Will Johnson continued to rebound the ball well and is now averaging 12 rebounds per game. Adam Arenas and Eddie Hanlon each poured in six points. Hanlon, Pollack and Sam Deenstaedt all pulled down six rebounds. Chris Clare displayed his passing skills and recorded 4 assists.

After a grueling 2 hour practice and a down to the wire scrimmage game against the Matthews Mustangs, Saint Matthew accepted the coaching staff's challenge of protecting the basketball. After committing 20 plus turnovers Wednesday Night, the team committed only 9 on Saturday.

Mark Beno shot the ball extremly well for the second game in a row. Matthew Fitzpatrick had three steals and continues to improve with each game and practice. Tyler Jensen provided his valuable leadership on the team. Ryan Melcher missed the game to attend the Catholic game and cheer on his older brother.

Saint Patrick player Matt Phillips drained a beautiful 3 pointer.

Saint Matthew sends out best wishes to Saint Patrick for the basketball season and a wish of Merry Christmas.
