The Brewers could sense the opportunity to move up in the standings, but the Athletics had a shot at 1st place, hence the stage was set for a battle royal between these two frequent sparring partners. But the Brewers took the fun out of the matchup with an 8-run 2nd inning, jump started by a guided missile off the bat of TrevorD which nearly took the glove off the centerfielder's hand. BenC, who also pitched 5 innings of 1 run ball, then began his 3 hit day with a single to center, and the Brewers went on to bring 12 batters to the dish in the frame. DannyP delivered 2 big hits and drove in 3 runs, and TaharkaT added a triple. MasonM made a great catch in right field to quell an Athletic attack. The A's could not find any holes in the Brewer defense, while the Brewer offense overwhelmed the A's defense. DanielR's 2nd outfield assist of the weekend highlighted the A's efforts.
