Game Summary The Yankees' pitcher JonahM and the White Sox hurler MichaelC locked into a classic pitcher's duel with the Sox ahead by a 2-1 score after three innings. Fine defense by CodyP of the Yankees and GabeF and JoelG of the Sox kept each team at bay, but then in the fourth inning the Yankees erupted for four runs with a clutch triple by JamesS and a double by SteveK. In the fifth inning GabeF walked, moved to second on a wild pitch, and stole third in daring fashion to ignite the Sox. SamD delivered the big blow, a double into the gap plating two runs, GabeG drew a walk and added some of his own daring baserunning to further the cause, which set the stage for JordanR's base hit to put the Sox ahead to stay, 7-6. Behind JoshV's scorching base hit,the Yankees threatened to tie the game in the top of the sixth. But with two outs and a runner at second, first baseman JordanR made a circus catch of a looping pop up which would have tied up the game.
NedL closed out the Sox victory with one and a third inning of excellent relief.
