Game Summary | The Astros prevailed over the River Cats 26 to 9 in a four hour twilight thriller at OAB #2. The Astros bats came alive in the team's highest scoring game this season. Hunter Jackson had two doubles and stole a sure base hit by catching a long fly ball to center field. Mark Bennett participated in three tag plays at the plate to stop scoring threats by the hard charging River Cats. Astros pitcher Andrew Smith had three singles and pitched two shut-out innings to close out the game. The River Cats had good batting with Guy Hager going 3 for 3 with a triple. Harrison Polston went 2 for 3 and had two out at Home plate. Alex Weiss and Kyle Savnik went 2 for 3, both with doubles & singles. Zach Land-Miller had a double. In the end, third baseman Matt Mass' put out on a force play brought the dramatic game to an end. |
