Game Summary | Outstanding pitching by Adam Simons (2 IP, no runs, 4 SO) in the middle frames gave the Rainiers the advantage in a very exciting contest with the Cannons. Austin Bourdier also made a fine outfield catch in the fourth. After the Cannons had posted two runs in the top of the first, the Rainiers scored 5 runs in the bottom frame, fueled by a double from Adam Simons, scoring the first two batters. A fine catch by the Cannons' center fielder in the second inning limited the scoring to one run. The Cannons scored 5 runs in the top of the fifth to draw to within 3 runs, but the Rainiers replied with 4 runs of their own. David Joseph-Goteiner followed up his pitching in the fifth with a scoreless sixth inning, and closed the game out for the Rainiers. Hitting was evenly distributed amongst the players on both teams, with XXX Yoder (2-3, run), Ben Bovarnick (1-2, 2 runs) and XXX Simon (2-3, run) leading the Cannons' charge. For the Rainiers Daniel Williams (2-2, 2 RBI, run) and Ryan Schaeffer (2-3, 2 runs, RBI) were the statistical leaders. |
