Team Summaries | Reds Notes: In a game featuring first and second place teams the Reds held on to first place with a 9-4 victory over the Rockies. Lucas F. limited the Rockies to 3 runs over 6 innings and was backed by excellent defensive plays from Catcher Ben Z., shortstop Kevin R., 2nd baseman Jon C., and 1st baseman Keith H. A nifty 4-6-3 double play ended the 2nd inning while a running over the shoulder catch by Keith ended the 4th inning. A few timely hits, excellent base running, and Rockies errors led to the Reds 9 runs. The big hits were a booming triple by Ben Z., a double by Keith H., and clutch RBI singles from Lucas F. and Andrew C. On the Rockies side they received solid pitching from Greg L. and timely hitting by Joe L., Nikko W. and an opposite field triple by speedy Daniel A. Rockies Notes: |
