| Team Summaries | Pelicans Notes: This game was much closer than the final score indicates, as the Pels had the lead for most of the contest. MaxS threw 4 terrific innings, and was on the mound for the early favorite for 'weird play of the year' (see below). IanM was the star of the game for the Pels, with a couple hits and some nice plays at first. ScottyR contributed an RBI double and AcmeZ made his way back from the flu to contribute a crucial base hit. Walks killed the Pels in more ways than one... Leading by 2 in the fourth, with the bases loaded and the count 2-2, the Pels threw ball 3. The batter (thinking it was a walk) made his way to first, with all 3 runners advancing. The Pels did not realize the situation until after all the runners had advanced. The Pels immediately protested the game on rule 2.00 - Offensive interference is an act by a member of the team at bat which interferes with, obstructs, impedes, hinders or confuses any fielder attempting to make a play. The play in question, of course, was the potential prevention of the triple steal (the unintended triple steal). After consulting with a number of authorities, Pelican Management dropped the protest.
