| Team Summaries | Reds Notes: Ben Z.'s game winning single to left capped a 2 run rally in the bottom of the 7th to give the Reds the victory in this well played contest at Willard Field. Starting pitcher Jeff G. paced the Reds to a 4-1 lead after 4 innings, backed by stellar infield play. Shortstop Kevin R. wowed the crowd with some dazzling glovework, diving left and right and snuffing out potential Mariners rallies in the 1st and 3rd innings. Jon C. combined with Kevin for the key double play in the 1st and just missed a ball up the middle with a diving attempt on a day that ended with Reds infielders' jerseys covered with Willard dirt. On the offensive end the Reds middle of the order of Kevin R., Lucas F., and Andrew C. combined for 8 hits and a bushel of runs. Ben Z. was strong in relief for the Reds, fighting his way through a hard hitting Mariners lineup and leaving his team in a position to win the game in the 7th. Mariners Notes: |
