Reds Notes:
Reds ace Kevin R. and Firebird Michael G. were locked up in a pitching duel. The Reds scratched 2 runs in the first inning behind the hitting and excellent base running of Kevin and Andrew C. The Reds defense was solid all day and led by great outfield play from Bobbie T. (3 putouts and great hustle that led to an assist at 3B), Tim M. in LF and Lucas F. at SS. Lucas made his NOLL pitching debut in the 5th inning and promptly recorded 2 strikeouts on 7 pitches to snuff out a Firebirds rally. He handed the ball to Ben Z. who pitched 2 shutout innings to earn the save. The Reds were able to add 4 runs in the 7th inning with Keith H. providing the big hit. Capping off an all around solid day at the ball park, Lucas also led the offense with 3 hits.
