| Game Summary | The Stars and Monarchs engaged in a close, well-played game at Caldecott on a cold and foggy Saturday morning. The Stars jumped out to an early 4-1 lead on hits by Lito A and Eli H. Four putouts by 2nd basemen Calvin W and good pitching from Dario B and Jerry M helped them stay on top. However, the Monarchs battled back to tie the game at 5 heading to the 4th inning. The Monarchs tallied for 4 in the 4th but were only able to push 1 more run across after that, thanks to great Stars pitching and defense. Stars catchers Lito A and Calvin W were able to gun down daring Monarch base stealers and Manolis S made a fine catch in the outfield. The Stars scored in both the 5th and 6th innings, but could not quite close the gap. Alex B, Sam F, Ben F, Tristan W and Matthew H all had RBI hits for the Monarchs. |
