The Reds bounced back from a rough start to take this one from the Rockies on a sunny afternoon at beautiful Witter Field. Down 5-0 after an inning, the Reds turned things around with steady pitching, great defense, and clutch hitting. Lucas F., Kevin R., Joe B., and Matt C. were sharp once again in the infield, and Keith H. turned in a great catch on a hard liner to left field. JM drove the Reds offense with 3 hits and 6 RBIs, highlighted by a bases loaded double that put the Reds ahead to stay in the 4th inning. Lead-off batter Kevin R. had 3 hits and scored 3 runs, while Lucas F. and Matt C. had two hits apiece. Starting pitcher Jeff G. bounced back from a tough first inning to easily retire the Rockies in the 2nd and 3rd inning, and Matt C. followed with 4 innings of strong relief. |
