The hitting of EliF (4/4 4r, 5rbi), DanielR (4/4 1r, 5rbi) and CharlieS (4/4 3r, 2rbi) led the A's to a 14-7 victory over the Yankees. EliF hit two doubles and a triple and DanielR doubled and hit his first home run. JoshF and SpyqS also added key hits. DanielR took the mound in his pitching debut, and, after giving up 3 runs in the first, he held the Yankees to just two more in 3 2/3 innings, giving the A's time to unleash their offense and roll to a 14-7 victory. SethB, also making his pitching debut, entered the game in the 4th after the Yankees had closed the score to 7-5 to record the final out in the inning. He allowed two runs in the 6th after the A's had stretched the lead to 14-5.scored 2 and were threatening. The defense was led by MattB's diving stop at first base and heads up throw to 2nd to get the force out. JoshF and EliF also added nice defensive plays to the game. DannyC scored 3 runs and JamesS scored 2 for the Yankees. MatthewK's double was one of only 2 extra base hits for the Yanks - who were held in check by the fine pitching and defense of the A's. DylanH laid down a beautiful drag bunt single to lead off the 6th inning, but it was too little too late for the Yanks, who could only muster 2 runs in their final at-bats.
