Jeremy Bowles (2-0) was the hitting and pitching star for the Royals in their victory over the Orioles on Sunday. The Royals jumped out to a quick 5 run lead in the first inning powered by JeremyB' first homerun of the year. The Orioles quickly tied the game in the bottom of the inning, with BryceC connecting for a 3 run homerun. The Royals played some shakey defense in the field but ended the inning on a nice double play. From there Bowles pitched 3 scoreless innings as the Royals jumped back on top to stay. The hitting was lead by JeremyB 4-4 day, 2 singles, double, a homerun and 3 rbis. TommyO had 2 hits, including a triple and 2 rbis. ChrisK and ZachZ added 2 rbis each. In the field, TynanD played a sparkling right field, including a diving catch in the last inning. The Orioles bats were alive (11 hits) led by BryceC (HR, 2B) SeanB (2 for 4) and GaryR (2 for 3). But errant defense early forced them to play from behind, and the Royals were up to the task, scoring in every inning but the third.
