The Tigers drew first blood in the first inning against the White Sox, scoring five runs with key doubles by ToryM and KevinO. The Sox picked up a run in the first inning, and then in the third inning struck for six runs. GabeF (4-4 on the day), JordanR, and MichaelC singled which set the table for a three run triple by MattD; TommyG brought in another run with a smash into center field. LukeN of the Sox contributed with a hit, a walk, and a run scored. Led by JulianM, the Tiger outfield defense turned the Sox back throughout the afternoon, and with a runner on first GriffenL snagged a wicked line drive heading into the corner, and stepped on a second for a scintillating doubleplay. MichaelC pitched two innings of scoreless middle relief to hold back the tough Tigers,and JordanR closed out the 9-8 victory. |
