Pelicans Notes:
The Pels and A's set an unofficial record with three rainouts in their two-game season series... but it all paid off when the season closed with perfect baseball weather at Witter field.

The Pels opened up a quick 2-0 lead on the baserunning of Rhino and Sarge, both of whom took 3 bases after reaching first. Cornflake pitched a strong first with the lead, but ran into some trouble in the second. The bottom of the 2nd featured 3 walks sandwiched between a couple of infield errors, and the lone hit (a double by hitting machine HenryL) brought the damage to 5.

The Pels were to play catch up the rest of the afternoon - scoring 1 in the third, another in the 4th and 2 more in the 6th on Krusty's clutch single to right.

Meanwhile, Pungo in his first mound action since his injury was fantastic. He allowed just 2 hits thru 4 innings, including an infield single, and kept the Pels within reach.

The top of the 7th saw the Pels chasing 1 run against the A's JoshSV. Squito started things off with a big single to left vs his good friend, and then stole two bases while 2 Pels struck out. With 2 outs, Squito took home on a passed ball to tie the game, and the Pels breathed a visible sigh of relief. Pungo singled, and Bruiser pinch ran. She came all the way around from first on a throwing error to score the goahead run, and the Pels ended up posting 5 in the inning.

Rhino kept the game exciting in the bottom of the 7th, allowing a run and loading the bases before striking out the last batter.
