Team Summaries | Pelicans Notes: First and foremost, a hearty THANKS to the Reds and Angels who played their doubleheader clean and quick and finished on time! The Pels and Padres started their third and season-series deciding game just after 5pm and the light fog present only added to the lush beauty of the hillside setting. The Pels' pitching staff (Krusty, Tigger and Rhino) ruled the day, holding the Padres to 4 hits over the course of the game and never more than one per inning. In the first, Krusty picked a runner off at first to quell a threat before it could materialize. Bass caught up with a deep fly ball in the second and in the third, Rhino made a great pick at the hot corner. The rest of the Pels made the plays they were supposed to to keep the bases clean. Bruiser was on base all 4 times, and she pounded a double down the line in left to lead off the third. Padres Notes: |
