Team Summaries | Snohomish Notes: Scoring Summary: Snohomish: Wirtz-20 (3 Goals), Perdergast-13 (1 Goal, 2 Assists), Anderson-36, (1 Goal, 1 Assist), Jones-43 (1 Goal), McAlister-15 (1 Goal) Steranka-5 (1 Assist) Blanchet: Evans-7 (3 Goals), Zielke-44 (1 Goal), Kruse-5 (1 Goal), Vandenberg-22 (2 Assist) Another impressive team performance for the Panthers, as they started off their conference play, and laid claim to their first victory of the season. Dominating at the face-off X, and easily taking more than 50% of the draws, and fantastic wing play and work by the long stick middies, Lucas and Mueller. The defensive effort for Snohomish was stellar, as time and time again they were able to stop the Blanchet transition game. On the offensive side of the ball Snohomish once again did a great job possessing the ball throughout the game. With the first tally of the game coming from Pendergast, unassisted at 10:57 in the first frame. At 8:01 in the same quarter, Blanchet midfielder, Evans tied up the game at one, concluding scoring for the remainder of the quarter. In the second quarter Snohomish found the back of the net two more times, with goals from Anderson at 10:10 assisted by Steranka, and again by McAlister at 2:29, assisted by Anderson. The Snohomish defense was able to shut out Blanchet for the entire 12 minutes, back boned by keeper Danielson, making same huge saves, totaling 5 in the quarter, keeping the half-time score extremely tight, with a slight Panther edge, 3-1. Scoring in the second half resumed with Blanchet coming out strong getting tallies on the board from Kruse unassisted at 11:46, pulling Blanchet within one. With another unassisted goal from Ziekle, the game was tied up at 3 each with 8:14, remaining in the 3rd. With 19 seconds remaining in the 3rd quarter, the Panthers attack was able to end their scoring drought with a go-a-head goal from Jones. In the last quarter, ball control became the name of the game with such a tight one-goal game. Snohomish was able to rely on midfielder Wirtz to score all three of their last goals of the game. The first was unassisted at 9:19, the second coming assisted from Pendergast at 4:28, and lastly at 2:17 in the game, assisted again from Pendergast, to seal the victory for the Panthers. Blanchet was able to split Snohomish's goal's in the 4th quarter to keep the game close, to the very end. Evans found the back of the net at 8:33, with the helper from Vanderberg, to keep Blanchet with in one. Again at 2:47 the duo teamed up again, to keep the score to a difference of one, prior to Snohomish's last goal to open it up to the final score of 7-5 Both goalies played fantastic games, creating a goalies dual, with Danielson totaling all 48 minutes, and 14 saves. Blachet's goalie, Massart, was without a doubt a game changer, coming up huge, with 21 saves in the game, and keeping Blanchet in striking distance the entire game. Snohomish would like to wish Blanchet good luck in luck their upcoming season, and we appreciate them making the drive up. Good Luck to Coach Warf, and his team as they proceed in their schedule and prepare for their next opponent, Redmond on Thursday. Snohomish immediately, turns around their efforts to prepare for a powerful Overlake team, this Friday at Overlake, with a 5pm start time. Blanchet Notes: |
