Lou Rowean got the first and decisive goal early in the second period after Keith Kettel went deep into the corner to fetch the puck. The LSharks were helped by the absence of the Seals' defensive stalwarts Tom Moon and Ben Phillips, but Dan Braun earned his shutout, stopping all 38 shots the Seals could muster. Perhaps the Seals' best scoring chance came as time expired, with Kam Khatkar firing a one-timer which Braun stopped with a kick save.
