| Game Summary | In icy cold conditions last Sunday at OAB-2, the Rivercats showed hot bats and impressive pitching to post a win in their season opener and defeat the visiting Monarchs in exciting NollSoll competition. Alex C singled with 2 outs in the bottom of the first to drive in 2 runs to give the Rivercats an early lead. After a scoreless second, the Monarchs rallied to tie the game in the top of the third with RBI singles from Hallock and Hamner. After that, it was all Rivercats, as Cristian H, Eli W, Alex C, and Josh W delivered back-to-back singles to combine for 4 runs and a lead that the Rivercats would not relinquish. The Monarchs could not produce another run as Cristian H and Alex C each pitched 3 strong innings and held the Monarchs to only 5 hits and one walk. The Rivercats added a run in the fourth and fifth innings with RBI singles from Alex W and Eli W. | ||
