Epic battle ended in eventual heartbreak for Issaquah to conclude the season as the Eagles experienced the highest of highs and lowest of lows all in about a 5 minute span.

After a couple early saves from Logan Pinel, Jim van Ede got his big night started to put Issaquah up early. Grizzlies responded with a 3-goal run, but Issaquah regained composure and went on a 3-goal run of their own. Carrying momentum into the second quarter, Jack Read stretched the lead and the Eagles had control. Cue momentum shift as Glacier Peak as two in a row from Austen Blume completed his hat-trick and tied it at 5-5.
teams traded goals before the defenses stiffened the final four minutes of the half to send the game deadlocked at 6-6 into the break.

The Grizzlies owned the 3rd quarter and seemed poised to walk away with it, extending to a 3-goal margin at 9-6 with just a minute left in the quarter. Yet, Issaquah found life by scoring with just 6 seconds left in the period. Despite being down just two, Issaquah didn't have much of the ball the first half of the 4th as Glacier Peak was smartly patient and won back several big groundballs in their own offensive end. When Issaquah finally did see the ball, an ill-timed over and back gave the Grizzlies a quick restart and they made no mistake. The goal and winning the next faceoff seemed to be a dagger as Issaquah wouldn't see the ball again until the 3 minute mark. Then things just got chaotic!

Issaquah failed on its chance and Glacier Peaked pushed the other way, but a key check stifled a shot in transition. The ball rolled to Pinel whom quickly fired it over midfield to Luke Densley. Densley moved to van Ede running in transition; he only had to avoid one and put a bouncer home. 10-8 Glacier Peak Issaquah lost the ensuing faceoff, but now under 2 minutes was able to force the Grizzlies out of the box. After an almost botched clear, Issaquah called its own timeout with 1:15 to play. The first dodge didn't produce, but after a quick outlet and redirect, van Ede was able to sidestep and dip to the middle to finish again... 10-9 Glacier Peak with 52 seconds left. Grizzlies again won the faceoff and called timeout to avoid a failure to advance. The timeout gave Issaquah the chance to double - Gaston and Anderson managed to strip it, Anderson won the loose ball and managed to flip it to Pinel. Just as Pinel went to send a pass upfield he was pushed from behind - man-up Issaquah with just 15 seconds left. Eagles kept composure despite Glacier Peak's attempt to step out and disrupt a set play. Hyde smartly bypassed the first pass and simply carried himself and Issaquah executed the rest of the play to perfection... Hyde skipped low to van Ed whom fed across the crease and a wide open freshman, Oliver Link finished the quick stick - the first and only time he touched the ball the entire game! Issaquah had done it... and somehow forced overtime.

The incredible high was short lived as Glacier Peak regained composure, won the overtime faceoff, called timeout and executed on their first possession. Heck of game from both squads.
