Opening day for ER Jags, visiting Sumner HS. Jag defense in Q1 was working well as a unit not allowing a goal till 1:56 left in the quarter. Jags offense was moving the ball well and had some good looks but could not get the ball in back of cage. Very positive Q1 outcome for the young Jags squad.
Unfortunately the offense could not gain any traction thru most of the game, not scoring first goal till mid Q4 and a second goal with less than a minute left in the game. The positive in this was both goals were scored by freshmen. Attack Kale Meadows and Middie Korey Moan got their first HS goals, good job boys!
Other notables, Senior capt Riley Verhoeven picked up 9 GBs and had some good control at face-off X. Senior capt Chase Dillon picking up 5 GBs. Senior capt goalie Traycer Kearns 9 saves on 21 shots on goal for a 42.9% saves. |
