Wenatchee was a very gracious host. They were helpful in many ways. The game was played an a beautiful grass field. It was a hot (75-80oF) and beautiful day ... and exhausting for the kids that were playing!

Wenatchee jumped out to an early 2-0 lead after a right alley dodge by Cory Leenders and then a left alley cut by Luke Carlson. Six minutes into the game, Providence scored with a shot by Matthew Morris, getting a rebound in front of the crease. Aidan Walsh tied the score near the beginning of the 2nd Qtr. But some errors by Providence gave Wenatchee a long EMO, in which they scored twice to go ahead 4-2. But a nice dodge and shot by Matthew Morris brought the score to 4-3 with 6:30 left in first half. Morris tried another shot with 3 mins left, which bounced off the goalie's net. Matthew Stoebe picked it up and sank it in the net to tie the score at 4-4 and that would be the score at the end the first half.
Providence came out hot in the third quarter with the Walsh brothers scoring 3 goals in the first 4.5 minutes. Aidan Walsh scored twice and Michael Walsh scored once. At the end of 3 Qtrs the score was 7-4 for Providence. But Wenatchee scored early in the 4th on an EMO. Matthew Morris answered 90 seconds later with a crazy bounce shot. With 4 minutes to go in the game, Providence led 8-5. Then a flurry of 4 goals in one minute - Wenatchee scored on an EMO. Wenatchee won the ensuing faceoff (Wenatchee won 19 of 21 face-offs in the game), Adam Chvilicek scored off a nice right alley dodge to fire up his team and close the gap to 8-7. Wenatchee won the next face-off, but threw the ball away. Defender Paul Johnson took the ball the length of the field and shot a rocket to the back of the net, making the score 9-7 Providence. But 20 seconds later Cory Leenders scored from in front after a nice dodge from Adam drew the defenders. The score was 9-8 and Wenatchee was fired up!! Wenatchee FOGO Nathan McCarthy won the faceoff and drove to the goal. No one picked him up ... he took the shot! But Jackson Morris made a super save! In the last 90 seconds, Wenatchee had another EMO, but threw the ball away. With 50 seconds left, Cory drove the right alley (again), beating his defender ... but a terrific trail check by Aidan Walsh knocked the ball loose and Matthew Morris grabbed the GB and ran it down the field. Providence would run out the clock to preserve an exhausting, hard-fought, intense win!!
