Predators Game Summary With Icers

Game One - 12/6

The Predators opened their season in a hard-fought game where they battled from behind to get within two points with two minutes remaining, but fell short to the Black Magic, 35 – 30. Predators scoring was spread among six players led by Talvale Tautalatasi (12), Dominic Taylor (six) and Trevor Patrick (six). Jake Swinderman and Ryan Belson both had key rebounds and sparkling assists that greatly helped in the come-back drive.

Game Two - 12/13

The Predators put forth a valiant effort against the Stingers, but despite strong defensive they fell short 34 – 25. Each member of the Predators had at least one rebound, lead by Nicolas Solis (nine). Other Predator players that had fine all-around games were Abdullah Ibrahim - four points, Julian Deguzman - four points, two steals, and Ben Fetzer - four points, three rebounds.

Game Four - 1/17

Stout defense created a big rebounding advantage that turned into multiple scoring opportunities which propelled the Drs. Johnson & Jolly Orthodontics Predators to a 63 to 44 victory over the Icers. Lead by point guard Julian Deguzman each Predator scored, with high scorers being Taivale Tautalatasi (11), Dominic Taylor and Ben Fetzer (10 each). Nicolas Solis played a great all around game with eight points and seven rebounds.

Game Five - 1/24

A very close, defensive game, tied with 2 minutes remaining, the Falcons pulled away to prevail over the Predators, 41 to 34. High scorer for the Predator’s was Taivale Tautalatasi (12) and Dominic Taylor had seven rebounds. Tireless effort put forth by Trevor Patrick and Julian Deguzman, and a great unselfish assist by Ryan Belson led to a big Predator basket late in the 4th quarter.

Game Six - 1/31

The Titans blew open the game early in the third quarter on their way to a 50- 32 victory, but the Predators kept playing hard until the end. Looking at the box score one would not know that Julian Deguzman and Trevor Patrick hustled the entire game making steals and diving for loose balls. Taivale Tautalatasi scored 13 points and Ben Fetzer 10, each player sinking two 3-point shots. Nicolas Solis had 5 rebounds.

Game Seven - 2/7

In a game the Predators could of easily laid down after the first half, they battled back to tie after the 3rd quarter before falling short in the final minutes to the Justice League, 42 – 39. Each member of the Predators scored a basket, led by Dominic Taylor, nine points. Nicolas Solis was one of the inspirational leaders in the come back drive, four points and seven rebounds, along with Taivale Tautalatasi, 10 rebounds and Julian Deguzman, six points.

Game Eight - 2/14

Poor Predator shooting and the Stingers domination of rebounding, lead to a very difficult day for the Predators as they lost to the Stingers 56 to 28. Despite the loss a few bright notes for the Predators were Julian Deguzman’s 11 points, Abdullah Ibrahim's strong defensive game knocking away three Stinger passes that prevented scoring opportunities, and Jake Swinderman’s defensive play and three rebounds.

Game Nine - 2/20

Wow, what a game, down 10 points in the first half, the Predators roared back in the 3rd quarter to lead by one point beginning the 4th quarter. Trevor Patrick scored the winning basket with 15 seconds remaining and the Predators prevailed over the Element, 36 to 34. Dominic Taylor scored 15 points, Julian Deguzman hit two 3-point shots, Ben Fetzer blocked two Element shots during the comeback drive, Taivale Tautalasi had six rebounds and intercepted three passes.

Game Ten - 2/28

The Predators started the game quickly, led by 12 early in the 2nd quarter, then their fortunes turned and the Black Magic took over taking the lead mid 3rd quarter and won, 41 to 33. The Predator’s high scorer Dominic Taylor - 11, leading rebounder Taivale Tautalatasi - 11. Ben Fetzer scored 7 points, including a three-pointer. Nicolas Solis and Jake Swinderman played strong defensive games with five and four rebounds respectively. Thank you Coaches Mike and Chris for a very fun season.

The Black Magic saved its best game of the season for last, fighting all the way back from a 10-point first-quarter deficit with excellent defense and a balanced offense to make prey of the Predators. Fielding a full 10-man squad for the first time all season, the Black Magic was inspired by a season-high eight-point outburst from center Charley Nordin, a great assist on one of those baskets by Amer Vilogorac, perfect free-throw shooting by Connor Bevan, and 50 percent field-goal shooting by Sam Wu.
